Daphne is getting older and heavier, and it is time to ponder the many questions involved in purchasing a new car seat.
As a part of my online moms group, I have read over and over again that Britax has some of the best car seats available. Not only do the consumer reports rating top the charts, but the parents I have heard from that have them say they are the best. Additionally, Britax has consistently scored at the top of all the crash-test ratings. The company has even gone so far as to do their own crash tests in the development of their car seats.
Safety is the most important thing. I got a car seat that can rear face until 33 pounds and then be turned around and be front facing longer than that. Even though I "COULD" turn Daphne around when she turns 1 in March, it is not a good idea, and studies actually show that keeping them rear facing as long as possible is the safest thing you can do.
So, I bought a Britax Boulevard. I am very excited about the car seat. It is still in the mail.
Re: Social Experiment that I am doing and buying a new car seat. I did this before the year began. Additionally, buying a new car seat is a safety issue for my child and is thus an exception. Buying a used car seat would be dangerous, because it is unknown if it was in a crash, etc.
